My goodness have I been busy!
I went to my LQS on friday for the free demos they do then and brought my Winter Twitterings quilt with me. I decided I did not like the pink pointsetta print as a border since it seemed to make the whole thing look washed out, and I didn't have enough of the black and gold snowflake print as I am using it for the Japanese Flower Garden. So I needed to find something that would work, and play nicely with the other fabrics. Oh my did I ever find something, and it was 50% off, plus it was not something that I would have chosen originally.
Ready?? Here is the before:
Here is the After!
Next big thing is that I have finished cutting out all my fabric for Omigosh!!!! All 45 different fabrics plus my white on white background fabric!!
This is one of my fur babies Nox. He loves to "help" me by watching my scraps and sleeping on them to ensure they don't fly away. |
And finally 2 more Dear Jane blocks!!
A1 and I were not friends. We are on speaking terms now but only after making the block 3 times essentially. The first time I did it I measured it out but silly me only added 1/4" instead of 1/2" for seam allowance and it was much too small. It will become something else. Then I freezer paper pieced it. and forgot to reverse the template so it was very very wrong. I then had to unpiece all the blocks, refer to my "miniature block" for placement of everything and then sew it all together again. Needless to say, frustrating. However I certainly learned to pay more attention!!
Next up is A5 which was easy compared to this. My flying geese were paper pieced!
Well I am going to go back to piecing my Omigosh quilt again so that I can start cutting it up into 1" squares and sew those together again!!
(I think we quilters may be a smidge on the crazy side :)
Happy Stitching!
I like the new fabric much better. Props to you for all that unsewing. The top looks really great.
ReplyDelete@Ann Marie Thank You Ann Marie, it actually didn't take too long to unsew the pink thank goodness!

Hi Kallie I'm glad you came over to my blog to visit so I could come here and see your wonderful projects. I love the darker fabric with your redwork; it really makes it "pop". I have been cutting 1" strips for Omigosh for quite awhile now. Maybe I should sew along with you. My Dear Jane top is finished waiting for quilting. Love your blocks. I've become a new follower, too!
